Did anyone else out there used to take a dictaphone as well as a camera on their backpacking trips? (Obv. this dates to the times before a phone would do both jobs.)
The Sublime Frequencies compilations that @ajroach42 highlighted yesterday reminded me of that. A mix of field and radio recordings that really gave a sense of the country.
Sadly, my attempt at this kind of thing was thwarted by losing the dictaphone out of crappy combat trouser pockets
