Yes I spent all evening playing “Easy Lover” on guitar what of it?

I’m a dad, we have our own kind of rock now.

My take on BMG's "Muscle Shoals: Small Town Big Sound" released yesterday:

A very listenable album with few standout moments. Mostly makes me want to listen to the original cuts they pay tribute to.

A happy Saturday to have a new member - welcome @emotionalresponse to the Club! :blobpats:

I am "had to buy albums without knowing a thing about how they sounded, based on intriguing sounding write-ups in magazines" years old.

The first three tracks of Billy Joel's "52nd Street" everybody knows.

The next six tracks are each better than the first three.

@djsundog I have been waiting for this record for four years. Gave up on it long ago. Stoked that it exists. :D

In the liner notes Paul Simon writes that these are songs that didn't sit quite right, or didn't say precisely what he intended, when they were first recorded. What an incredible feeling it must be to scratch those itches after decades, and how interesting that his corpus is still alive to him, still vibrant.

I am reminded of Peter Gabriel's Scratch My Back records, except those were full-on self-indulgence whereas this feels more inspired, maybe; braver.

@djsundog

No! What will I do without the image and the style that I'm used to?

THIS IS A DISASTER!

I have absolutely no reason to ever put a needle on this record yet I find myself wanting to replace my long lost turntables

Hey, who remembers Fun Boy Three, when the three vocalists from the Specials departed to make some weird vocal/percussion arty pop
